Music 4 GCSE

This blog was launched on October 12th 2006 at Rhyn Park School and Performing Arts College in St Martins, North Shropshire, and made available to all Shropshire secondary schools at the netwrok meeting on December 1st 2006.

The aim of the blog is to help students who are studying for the GCSE in Music in Shropshire Schools, to find additional support and to share ideas with other students across the county.

If you attend a school in Shropshire and would like authorship rights to this site so that you can post views and opinions and your own original work or ideas, please contact your music teacher who will talk to me about giving access, or email me giving details of name, email address and school.

The first stage of the building of the site is to include basic information on important vocabulary. This will take some time to complete. You are invited to add good examples of the postings from music you are listening to and would want to recommend to others.

Please note that you must have ownership of all materials that you post - you cannot present the work of others without their permission - this include all written and musical materials including mp3’s etc..

Take a look at this very useful site - you can keep all your favourite sites on line and access them both at home and school or anywhere - it also allows you to see what other like-minded people are researching. Take a look.

Outro, when applied to music, is the name given to a section in music at the very end which either brings the piece to a conclusion or ‘fades out’. See wikipedia

The Rock Idol 2006 competition is seriously hotting up - this year there have been over 200 bands entering from schools within the West Midlands region, which includes Sjhropshire. Each band performing their own individual songs live on the internet using video conferencing technology.
